Maroro Project Gets a Start
13/July/2010 18:54

On Saturday, the 22nd of May we had a working bee at the NZTBS and a group of CYA members under the close supervision of Robert Brooke made a start on preparing Maroro for restoration.
First up was the removal of the cabin top this was achieved quickly and cleanly with the aid of a skillsaw! The cabin top is all totally rotten and will only be used for patterns during the rebuild.

By early afternoon Maroro was stripped back to just a bare hull.

The engine was removed a few days later thanks again to Boat Haulage and Moon Engines. She is now parked back under cover while pricing and funding operations continue.
