October - Build a Clinker Dinghy Class Postponed

Note: This class has had to be postponed until 2010, please keep in touch as the new class dates will be posted here at some point.

We are pleased to announce another Clinker Dinghy class here at the New Zealand Traditional Boatbuilding School.  This is a 4 week, full-time course in clinker dinghy construction.  The class will run from the 5th of October to the 30th of October. Classes will be held in Hobsonville at the workshop from 9am to 4pm, Monday through Friday.

This is a hands on, practical class limited to only three students and will be taught by Ray Pitcher.  Participants will build a 2.8 Meter clinker dinghy.  Some of the topics covered will include: lofting, framing, spiling, planking, painting and varnishing.

Tuesday Night Class Schedule

Term three of the Tuesday night hobby class begins tomorrow, the 21st of July. The term runs for 10 weeks through to 22nd Sept. After a short break, term four will run from the 13th of October to the 15th of December.

The first term of 2010 will run from the 2nd of February until the 6th of April.

The Tuesday night class is currently full, however if you are interested, please contact us and we can add you to the waiting list.
