Tuesday Hobby Classes
10/May/2010 18:00
The
Tuesday evening hobby class is now
buzzing along and with 17 people
building boats this class is now full up and we are
placing people on a waiting list. Im very
pleased to see a couple of father and son teams in
this class and all the students are progressing well
with their projects. The Tuesday Morning class is
going along nicely and a few places are still
available in this class although only for small
projects as we are simply running out of space for
boats.

Silver Fern Project
10/May/2010 17:47
The
restoration of our Silver Fern dinghy is coming along
nicely and Mark
Robinson is just putting the finishing touches on
her this week.

The 12' Silver Fern dinghy was designed by Arch Logan in 1933 as a junior training boat for the Herne Bay Junior yacht club. Many fine young sailors cut their teeth in these boats including amongst these Laurie Davidson. We have another of these fine little yachts awaiting a space so we can help its owner with some repairs and maintenance over the winter months.
